Comprehensive Eye Tests Perth
At Eye C Optometry South Perth we believe that everyone deserves the best possible eye care.
Our eye examinations incorporate use of advanced technology including optical coherence tomography (OCT) and retinal photography. We combine technology, equipment and expertise to give you the best possible chance to maintain healthy eyes.
What is an OCT scan and how can it benefit me?

An OCT (optical coherence tomography) scan is a sophisticated scanning method that produces images of the internal structure of the eye. OCT scanning allows us to view three dimensional cross sections of the retina.
OCT scans can enable earlier detection, more precise diagnosis and monitoring of eye diseases and conditions such as glaucoma, macular degeneration and diabetic retinopathy.
At Eye C Optometry we use the state-of-the-art Nidek 330 OCT Retinal Scan Duo. The Nidek OCT and camera not only scans the retina but can also assess anterior (front of) eye structures such as the anterior chamber angle and cornea.

What to expect at your eye test
At your first appointment, we aim to gather as much information as possible regarding ocular history, general health and family history. Details of previous prescriptions for glasses, contact lenses and medication are also extremely valuable along with information regarding lifestyle and your eyewear needs. We aim to get to know you, and if you have time we can chat about your eyewear needs over tea or coffee.
Occasionally a second appointment is required for further tests or examinations. Specialist referral and reports back to your GP are provided if required.
We are independently owned and operated, enabling us to provide continuity of care and to build ongoing relationships with our patients.
The importance of regular eye tests
Eye tests are a vital part of any health care program. Regular eye tests ensure normal visual development in children and enable the early detection of eye diseases and conditions affecting general health. We recommend regular eye tests every two years for healthy adults. For children it’s imperative that vision is tested during the developmental years. For eye tests in South Perth book here.
