Children’s Eye Tests Perth
– ensuring your child has optimal vision for learning and development.
If you’re a parent, you probably see your child’s health as more important than your own.
We understand your concern – that’s why Eye C Optometry has a special interest in children’s eye tests and the dispensing of children’s glasses and contact lenses.
At what age can my child have their eyes tested?
At Eye C Optometry we recommend children have their first eye test at four years of age. If you have any concerns about your child’s vision they should be tested earlier.
Having your child’s eyesight checked at an early age will enable problems to be detected and treated early on, and allow good visual habits to be established for their future.
We recommend that children have their eyes examined yearly.

If your child is struggling with their vision Eye C Optometry is here to help, all in a friendly and welcoming environment.
How can my child benefit from regular eye tests?
Good vision is a key factor in education – if a child cannot see clearly, either in the distance or up close, their ability to learn will be affected. Poor vision can also impede hand-eye co-ordination and depth perception, making it more difficult to play and enjoy sports. If a child is not able to function at their best this can begin to affect their behaviour.

Contact Lenses for Children
At Eye C Optometry South Perth we can assess whether contact lenses are suitable for your child. Myopic (short-sighted) children are the predominant group of children that can benefit from contact lenses. Contact lenses play an important role in managing the progression of myopia. Contact lenses also provide children that rely on spectacles with clear vision without glasses – improving self-confidence, or providing safety and comfort when playing sport.
